Yes, that's really him

I had to do it. I had to include this picture in the blog. Aunt Mandy brought Lydia along when she was stalking Keith Urban during a tour trip to Austin last year. And it paid off big time for Lydia.

A Day at the Park

Thank you, Aunt Mo, for realizing how badly we all needed to see each other. Of course, one of the things I learned today is when you get a group of people with very little kids together outdoors, you don't have time for a whole lot of chit chat. Man, keeping these little guys safe and sound is a lot of work! Mostly, we smiled at each other's beautiful babies, while keeping our own happy and out of harms way.

Here, Brian wrangles young Tom.

Pete and Loretta demonstrate one of the truly great, and classic, Daddy and Daughter at the park moves. This is what shoulders were made for.

While talking to Kirke, Aunt Mandy demonstrates that some babies are easier to keep on an actual leash than others. Cotton loves a good picnic.

Lydia with her godfather, Pete

And her godmother, Mo

And finally, Guthrie and Loretta have an opportunity to spend some quality time together. I'm just going on a hunch here, but I bet if you check Loretta's blog, you'll see some similar photos from her point of view.

Is that Melon Ripe YET?

Sr. Serious cracks a smile

It's true! Guthrie does crack up once in a while. Here, he reflects on the joys of little monkeys eating his feet. We love our monkey slippers....

Blood is Thicker than Geography

Now, we realize that in the aftermath of the Rose Bowl victory, an Austinite in an OU getup is about as unexpected as clear sinuses during cedar season. However, Guthrie was named for his Grumps, Gerald Jones, a proud OU graduate, and he feels strongly about honoring his namesake's alma mater.
Here, Brit and Lydia join in the fun as Guthrie displays his Oklahoma. And special love and thanks to Aunt Ginny, Grumps' sister, for making this moment possible. The suit was a very special Christmas present.

True Love

Guthrie drags us boldly into the 21st century

I'm not ashamed to admit it. After months of being addicted to Loretta's blog (http://lorettamstiles.blogspot.com/) it finally occurred to me that my own beautiful family should publish one of these new-fangled newsletters. So here it is. Mostly it's intended as a way to post and share photos and tidbits about our family, especially the kids. If you're looking for more grown-up material, Brit has Stickpony stuff on MySpace
(http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendID=24086406)
and he has a blog right here on blogger.com (http://musicfrontnews.blogspot.com/)
Looking at the links, it occurs to me that for a family feeling unrepresented on the web, we're actually pretty well represented.
But back to the purpose of this blog - we've got a cute family and we don't care who knows it.
